Café Art Contest deadline for National Handwashing Week ends on Tuesday 12/8…

December4

Top three posters will win a free ice cream and be entered into the County wide contest.  We love seeing your artwork so pull out those art supplies over the weekend and show us what you’ve got!

The café will be serving fresh Georgia grown broccoli for lunch on Tuesday.  This broccoli was grown right here in Georgia at Spring Hill Produce in Tifton Georgia.  They have a 4,700 acre farm that is family owned.  This farm has been in operation for over 60 years  and they specialize in broccoli and cantaloupes.

Did you know that the name broccoli comes from the Latin work brachium which means “branch” or “arm”?  They do kind of look like branches don’t they? Broccoli is a member of the cabbage family, which may help prevent certain types of cancer.  Broccoli also has as much calcium per ounce as milk.  Don’t forget to try our fresh roasted broccoli for lunch!
