Symphony

December8

5th grade will attend the Symphony next week.  Make sure your child’s Performing Arts permission slip has been turned in.  It is a free trip (donations were appreciated though).  Proper etiquette and attire are necessary.  Begin the conversation with your child about appropriate behavior in a symphony; we will have the same discussion in class.  Additionally, begin looking for an appropriate outfit as well. NO track pants or shorts and no graphic t-shirts.

Boys:

-pants:  black or gray are 1st choice.  Khakis are 2nd choice.  If you don’t have either, a nice pair of pants.  If you don’t have any, the darkest pair of jeans that you own.

-shirt: button up shirt is 1st choice.  A collared Polo style shirt is 2nd choice.  If you don’t have either, find a solid color shirt and go with it.

-shoes: a nice pair of shoes.  If you don’t have any, find the darkest or most solid color pair of shoes that you own.

Girls:

-pants:  same rule applies as boys

-shirts: a nice blouse is 1st choice. If you don’t have this, wear the nicest shirt you own.

-skirts: long skirts are a 1st choice.  Knee length or lower are 2nd choice.  NO shorter than knee length.

-dresses: long dresses are 1st choice.  Knee length or lower are 2nd choice.

-shoes: be comfortable.  NO heels.  We are walking far and there ARE steep stairs!!!
