AdvancED Parent Survey
Parents may complete the survey using their personal computer, smartphones or tablet. All parents should be encouraged to participate in the AdvancED Parent Survey because the data will be used to inform the school and the district of parent’s opinions. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to AdvancED’s eProve for analysis. Individual data results from the Georgia Parent Survey will not be available to the public and will not be posted online. The URL address for the AdvancED Parent Survey is posted below.

Immigration Day is Thursday, February 25th. Parents, we still need some volunteers to help make this day a success. If you can help anytime between 8:00 and 11:00, we would greatly appreciate it!! Before this day, the students need to have:
-their outfit for that time period
-currency from that country equivalent to 20 US dollars or more
-their passport (completed in class)
-study their citizenship test (must pass test on Immigration Day)
-ship manifest (they will be quizzed on knowing their identity on Immigration Day)

Reading
We’ve been working on how & why we should look at multiple perspectives on the same topic. Below you will see the images of different perspectives that we’ve discussed in class on the topic of immigration.
Writing
The students are near the end of drafting their narrative. They were given 3 prompts and chose the one they wanted to write about. The kids are including: flashback, figurative language, internal monologue, dialogue, and bringing their characters to life.

Thank you, thank you PTA and parents for making us feel so appreciated this week. Your children wrote some pretty amazing notes and the gifts were very heartfelt! It is our pleasure and honor to teach your amazing kiddos! Enjoy your break. We look forward to working hard and finishing strong as we enter this last leg of 5th grade!

Please remember that students are able to correct most papers that have below an 80% in math for grade recovery. These assignments almost always have a note from us saying they need to correct, redo or see one of us about the assignment. Please remind your student to take this opportunity to improve their score.
