Math:

We are continuing our study of decimals with division. Students are learning how to divide a decimal by a whole number, a decimal by a decimal and a whole number by a decimal. See the anchor chart below for some of the tips and strategies we will discussing this week.

We take multiplication tests almost every Monday. We will be sharing the growth of your student at conference week. We believe this skill is essential to maintain so even those students who have shown mastery will continue to practice. This is a ‘use it or lose it’ skill. If you know your student does not know their facts, please practice will them at home or have them use online fact practice. Thank you!

Science:

We are studying matter and its properties. We will move into what qualifies as a solution, compound and mixture as well as how students can tell the difference. Our last part of this unit will be physical and chemical changes. Around Thanksgiving we will have our annual “Gobble Gobble Day”. Be on the lookout for information to come home on this very fun, tasty and educational day!!
